Feline Ondontoclastic Resporptive Lesions (FORL)

Nigel, a sensitive boy, has been a patient since kitten hood and developed painful lesions on his teeth starting at a young age. Although he is a special little guy FORL is seen in about 40% of our Feline dental patients and is a life long condition. His adoring mama brings him in every 1-2 years for dental cleanings and x-rays to assure he lives without any pain.

Bit By Dog

Smiling Fido is a true tough guy at home. After picking a fight with his much larger housemate, Fido got more than he bargained for and presented with wounds extending up and down his leg with bone exposure. DTLAvets’ team treated his wounds and walked his parents through weeks of wound care. Fido has recovered fully and is back in action at home.

Vascular Ring Anomaly

Sweet sweet Kitten was struggling to keep food down at home when her mother brought her to our team. After supportive care, diagnostics and careful observation it was determined that she was born with an extra blood vessel strangling her esophagus. She is happily drinking her food now, growing and waiting to get big enough for surgery.

Pyometra

Tender Vaqui presented to our team with vomiting and diarrhea but through diagnostics it was determined she had a uterus infection that required IV antibiotics and emergency surgery. You see her here in recovery just after surgery. Vaqui’s family took her home later that day. Tiny but mighty Vaqui, we are so proud!

Maggot Infected Bite Wounds

All heart. Missy was attacked by a house mate and left in the yard to heal. When her wounds became infected and the bone was exposed to the elements, Missy was abandoned at an ER hospital for euthanasia. Dr Flores fell for her and brought her to DTLAvets to get intensive wound care and recover with our team. Missy healed like a rockstar and lives with her new family.
